CPR & First Aid Training

First Tuesday of every month:  (2nd Tuesday), 9/2, 10/7, 11/4, 12/2 
Time:  8:00 a.m—12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Instructor:  Jenni Critzer     
Through the American Heart Association Heartsaver Program, participants will learn to recognize and care for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical help can take over. Handle emergency situations, breathing and cardiac emergencies; adult, child and infant CPR; basic precautions for preventing disease transmission; identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding; sudden illness and injuries and environmental emergencies. This course meets OSHA Guidelines for CPR and First Aid.  Participants will receive a certification card good

Business Writing for Beginners

Date:  Thursday—October 16

The principle for sound business writing is logic.  It should be clear, concise, and when fitting, persuasive.  Letter-writing organization, memos, reports, meeting minutes, proposals, and good, “bad news” letters are some topics to be covered. Traditional memos vs. electronic mail memos:  why they are written differently will be discussed.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own business writing samples. 

Managing Difficult People

Ever wonder why some people are so hard to get along with? Learn strategies and techniques that will lead to a positive outcome even with the most difficult boss, coworker or customer.                                                                                                  

The Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce provides for its members an array of training programs designed to provide practical, job-related tools for employers and their employees to enhance effectiveness and productivity.

 All programs are conducted by competent, experienced instructors who emphasize a practical approach to maximize the relevance and immediate applicability of the curriculum.  Participants benefit from the opportunity to share problems, situations and experiences with their peers from other companies, and active participation by each student is an important component of all Chamber training activities.

Violence in the workplace accounts for 1000 fatalities and over 20,000 non-fatal events in the US each year. The prevalence of near misses, physical assaults, abusive behavior, and threats of violence sometimes remain unrecognized and unreported.
