TOURISM CONNECTION
The Regional Tourism Board was created in September 2000 as the regional tourism outreach of the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the Board and its committees is to bring all travel-related entities together for organizing and executing a regional tourism program with the end result of increasing visitation to the region. The “Crossroads of the Shenandoah Valley” brand is being promoted heavily as the identity of the Greater Augusta region, a gold mine of historic sites, cultural and recreational opportunities and scenic splendor.
Projects
have included producing a regional visitor’s guide, a regional map, coupon book, and advertisement in such publications as Southern Living, Blue Ridge Country and other major publications.
